Our Service

Offering a retirement plan to your employees is a challenging and rewarding decision.  Administering the plan, managing assets or choosing to allow participants to direct their own investments require specific actions and responsibilities. We enjoy assisting our retirement plan clients directly and also in partnership with outside third party covered service providers.

Key components of a well executed retirement plan include:

   Plan Governance

Plan Governance

Plan Governance is the overarching term used for managing legal risks, ensuring the plan is operating efficiently and properly, structuring the plan to maximize positive experiences and encourage participation, and ensure plan expenses are sensible and fair for the services provided.

Retirement Services gives guidance on the best practices for governance and assists with documenting governance as part of the Annual Review report and periodic meetings scheduled with plan fiduciaries

   Plan Documentation

Plan Documentation

All Plan Fiduciaries are responsible for documentation to some degree. Documentation must be accurate and accessible. This documentation also proves invaluable during an audit of the plan by the Department of Labor.

Documentation created by Plan Services includes the Investment Policy Statement (how investments will be utilized by the plan), a fully documented prudent process for investment selection and monitoring that complies with the Investment Policy Statement, and details the education provided to participants about their plan options, most often to demonstrate compliance with ERISA 404(c).

   Investment Monitoring

Investment Monitoring

Whether serving as a fiduciary advisor in the 3(21) Investment Consultant or 3(38) Investment Manager capacity, Plan Services utilizes fi360 Toolkit in recommending, selecting and monitoring investments utilized by participants in retirement plans. Documentation of such reviews and recommendations are maintained in order to demonstrate a prudent standard of care as expected by the Department of Labor.

Depending on each plan's needs, Retirement Services may recommend an initial menu and periodic changes or discretionarily select investments and execute replacements as appropriate.
